Main Programs
Explore how VIEW pursues free and fair elections
Citizen Reporting
VIEW organizes and coordinates citizen reporting missions against election (law) violation across Sri Lanka. Our volunteers facilitate citizens in collecting and referring complaints to the Election Commission, Police Department, and Human Rights Commission, depending on the nature of the violation.
Training & Capacity Building
We provide comprehensive training programs for volunteers and young activists, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to drive civic engagement in electoral process and foster political participation on a large scale. Our training covers key areas such as electoral law, observation techniques, data collection and reporting, stakeholders’ responsibilities and the complaint mechanisms of the Election Commission, Human Rights Commission, and the Police Department.
Advocacy & Awareness
VIEW advocates for electoral reforms and greater transparency in the electoral process. We work closely with local communities, CSOs, and international bodies to raise awareness about the importance of free and fair elections and public engagement in reporting violations and electoral participation.
Our Approach
Grassroots Mobilization
We recruit and train volunteers from local communities, equipping them with the skills and tools needed to observe and report on election activities.
Technology-Driven
Our volunteers use digital tools and technology to collect and share data, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Experienced Guidance
We are supported by senior advisors who guide and mentor young people in our operations, fostering intergenerational collaboration and ensuring the continuity and growth of our mission.
Non-Partisan and Independent
We maintain strict neutrality, ensuring that our missions are impartial and free from political influence.
